“Ms J” is expecting a baby, with only four weeks to go before her little bundle is due to arrive. She returned home this week, to discover that her own vehicle, a Renault Megane, had been stolen. Neighbours told her, that the brazen thieves had hitched the vehicle onto a tow truck in broad daylight, and dragged it away from her home in Darlaston, West Midlands.
Ms J was naturally distraught. With four weeks to go, the last thing she needed was to have her mobility taken away by heartless criminals. She contacted her broker, Bromwich Insurance, to report the incident, and they gently reminded her that she had purchased a Theft Protect policy when she renewed her motor insurance.
One call to the guys at Nice 1, and her Theft Protect policy kicked in immediately. A brand new rental car was delivered to a grateful Ms J within a few hours.
Ms J said : “I want to thank the staff at Bromwich for including Theft Protect cover in my insurance, I don’t know how I would have managed over the next few weeks without transport, it’s really taken a load off my mind.”
Theft Protect is a like-for-like replacement vehicle insurance policy, that provides a hire vehicle for up to 28 days in the event of a theft or write off incident. The policy promoted by insurance brokers, motor manufacturers and dealers around the UK, enhancing service levels and satisfying the motorist need for a replacement vehicle when they need it most.

Theft By Towing
This is becoming an increasingly popular way for criminals to steal cars. To the onlooker, the activity often looks innocent enough, an apparently everyday occurrence.
This can either be done by hitching the car to a tow truck (sometimes under the guise of enforcing a parking fine to avoid suspicion) and towing away, or by simply pushing the car away after forcing entry to the car to release the parking brake.
Minimise the chances of theft by towing or lifting by turning your wheels towards the kerb and leaving the car in gear & apply a steering lock before parking. This will make towing your car more difficult for thieves who steal your car using a tow or lorry. Park in your garage or driveway at home and park in a busy area when out and about.
*Ms J is a real person and these are real events that took place. The team at Nice 1 vigorously protect the indentity of their customers, who might fear further attention from car criminals.
